  1. What is the procedure of registration?

    To register and take your place in the line of our patients for the CCSVI treatment at EuroMedic Clinic, please fill in the questionnaire below. After registration process we will inform you about the details of your CCSVI/MS treatment.

  2. Should I perform any examinations before I undergo the treatment?

    All examination will be performed on the spot in the EuroMedic clinic, there is no need to perform any previous examination. Nevertheless there is a possibility to perform pre-and post-treatment diagnosis in a new EuroMedic office located in the United States.

  3. I have the examinations performed elsewhere, will the doctors diagnose based on those results?

    Examinations results only from U.S. EuroMedic will be accepted.

     
  4. How is the treatment carried out?

  5.  What is the cost of the treatment (including the additional examination)?

  6. What results can be expected after the treatment?

    According to the preliminary data confirmed by the patients who underwent the procedure, 50% of respondents felt a marked improvement in health, which entails stopping the progress of the disease. Furthermore, the group of 40% of respondents stated that after the procedure their health condition was balanced. In 10% of patients the treatment did not bring the desired results. Until now, there has been more than five thousand procedures performed in the world (including approximately 1,300 procedures in NZOZ EuroMedic Specialists Clinics in Katowice).

     
  7. What are the postoperative complications and presumptive contradictions?

    Endovascular method is the newest and the least invasive method of vascular diseases treatment. The treatment requires only a regional anesthesia and does not entail surgical unveiling of the vessels. The most common, though not dangerous, complication is a hematoma in the place of puncturing the blood vessel. Other complications like vessel perforation with bleeding, dislocation of a stent or allergic reaction to contrast are rare. Basically,there are nocontraindicationstothe treatment. They may be temporal and when the situation returns to normal, vascular treatment can be performed. These include:
    -Infectionat the injection site(groin),
    -Bedsores,
    -Renal failure(afterconsultation with thenephrologist),
    -Muscle spasms in the supine position,
    -Use of oral anticoagulants (you have to start taking low molecular weight heparin under the supervision of a family doctorat least 5days prior to surgery).

     
  8. Are there any other units of EuroMedic in Poland or abroad?

    In response to numerous inquiries from patients, EuroMedic has launched a new office of pre-and post-treatment diagnosis which is located in the United States.

  9. How long patients' accompanying person can stay at the hospital?

    Only one person is allowed to accompany the patient on the ward. Other members of the family/friends are asked to wait at the buffet next to the ward. Patients’ family members/friends have to leave the hospital not later than at 10:00 PM.

     
  10. Does the contrast administered during the surgery contains iodine?

    No, it doesn’t contain iodine.

     
  11.  Do I need a special health insurance when traveling to Poland?

    No, normal travel insurance is enough.

     
  12. Do I have to do anything special before coming for the diagnosis and treatment?

    No, unless your doctor tells you otherwise.

     
  13. How long will I stay in the hospital after the treatment?

    The patient stays at the ward for 2 days. In the morning of 2nd day patient will be discharged form he hospital.

     
  14. Is it possible to receive part time sick leave?

    Before leaving the hospital please remember to ask for a sick leave.

     
  15. What kind of examinations will be performed during the check-up visit?

    Depending on a CCSVI treatment there are various types of check up visits. For more information please click here.

     
  16. How long does the treatment take?

    The treatment usually takes no longer than 1h.

     
  17. What is included in the medical package?
The medical package includes:
  • Vascular surgeon/angiologist consultation.
  • Neurologist consultation – before and after the procedure.
  • Magnetic resonance examination of jugular and mediastinal veins (MRI).
  • Doppler examination of internal jugular veins before and after the procedure.
  • Eye examination (OCT).
  • Venography, which is a contrast Roentgen examination of jugular and mediastinal veins.
  • Endovascular procedure (angioplasty or stenting).
Logistic package:
  • 5- night stay in a 4-star hotel (breakfast included) – double room.
  • Transport to the examination and procedure facilities.
  • Transport from/to Pyrzowice (Katowice) or Balice (Kraków) Airport.
  • EuroMedic personnel assist during your stay.
  • Telephone hot-line assistance.
Additionally for a patient:
  • A set of basic post-procedure medications for a week.
  • ECG test.
  • Massage therapy and rehabilitation consultation.
  • Dentist visit voucher – free dental check-up.
Additionally for the accompanying person:
  • 45 minutes massage session for the accompanying person.
  • Dentist visit voucher – free dental check-up.
  • ECG test.
